Crochet Pumpkin
This cute little pumpkin definitely will bring a lot of joy! It can be a great project for crochet beginners. It is an easy crochet pattern that works up quick!

Size of the finished toy:


About 0.98 (2 cm) height and 1.77 inches (4,5 cm) wide with semi cotton yarn and a 1.75 mm crochet hook.

Abbreviations:


mr, sc n = magic ring - crochet n single crochet stitches into the adjustable loop

Cs = chain stitch (UK=chain)

sl st = slip stitch (UK=slip stitch)

sc = single crochet stitch (UK=double crochet)

inc = increase = 2 sc in one st

dec = decrease = two sc together

(sc 4, inc) x n = repeat the pattern between parentheses n times

st/sts = stitch/stitch

[n] = the number of stitches in the round

You will need:


- 1.75 mm crochet hook;

- yarn: Yarnart Jeans green color 69,orange color 70.

- Scissors, stitch marker or scrap piece of yarn;

- soft stuffing;

- yarn needle.

You can use the same pattern to make larger or smaller toys by using finer or bulkier yarn. Also you can use a different color yarn. Pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on yarn label and crochet tightly enough to achieve a tight gauge that will not allow the stuffing to show through the fabric.

PUMPKIN

To keep track of the beginning of the rounds, use a stitch marker.
Round 1: mr, sc 6 = [6]
Round 2: inc x 6 = [12]
Round 3: (sc 1, inc) x 6 = [18]
Round 4: (sc 2, inc) x 6 = [24]
Round 5: (sc 3, inc) x 6 = [30]
Round 6-11(6 rounds): sc in each st around = [30]
Round 12: (sc 3, dec) x 6 = [24]
Round 13: (sc 2, dec) x 6 = [18] Put stuffing
Round 14: (sc 1, dec) x 6 = [12]
Round 15: dec 6 =[6]
Cut off the yarn leaving a long yarn tail (about 30 inches(80 cm)) for fasten off and create ribbing
for the pumpkin.

RIBBING


Create approx 7-8 sections of the ribbing for the pumpkin to give it its shape.
To do this take the long end of the tail from the bottom of the pumpkin after you fasten off and attach to a sewing needle, pass through the centre of the magicring start and through the centre of the pumpkin and back through the bottom centre, pull yarn to tighten.

STEM & VINE
Cs 7 , turn back with sc 6 (start crocheting from the second chain from the hook), Cs 12, turn back with sl st 11 (start crocheting from the second chain from the hook).
Cut off the yarn leaving a long yarn tail forsewing and fasten off.

LEAF

Cs 5 (start crocheting from the 3rd chain from the hook) sc 2, sl st, Cs and sl st ( in the same chain),
continue crocheting on the other side of the beginning chain sc 2, Cs 2, sl st.
Cut the yarn leaving a long yarn tail for sewing and fasten off.
